Production Engineer – H5 & Splitters

Description:

Provide daily support for Operation of our LPG unloading and distillation facilities at the Marcus Hook site. The candidate will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the units driving process improvements while maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus. The candidate will identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and capital projects as well as apply technical knowledge to detect and resolve causes of any deviations. The candidate will contribute to a team environment and establish working relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Implement systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, equipment reliability, cost and quality.
  • Follow and direct day-to-day plant operations.
  • Apply technical knowledge to detect causes of deviations in quality, capacity, yield, cost, and energy consumption.
  • Participate and/or lead Operational and Reliability Improvement team(s) and sub-groups.
  • Develop initial scope and business case for in-plant changes and improvement projects.
  • Develop, modify, and/or review operational procedures, including commissioning and start-up procedures for new equipment.
  • Lead root cause analysis studies to resolve plant process and equipment related issues.
  • Participate, lead, and support unit MOC’s and PSSR’s.
  • Participate in unit PHA’s and other Hazard Analyses.
  • Resolve key audit findings to maintain compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Specify process conditions needed to run new or modified feedstock, in conjunction with the Quality representative and Process Specialist.
  • Assists and/or leads in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and nonconforming products.
  • Help coordinate and plan special product trials.
  • Flexibility to work additional unscheduled hours as if needed (including weekends and holidays), given advanced notice, dictated by plant reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 2+ years professional work experience.
  • Possess skills to be able to contribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.
  • Self-motivated, and results oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communications, as well as computer skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a plant environment.
  • Experience with distillation, refining, and/or polymers processes.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
