Job summary

Dairy Boy is seeking a Production & Development Coordinator to support our product development and production teams from first submit to final shipment. This hands-on, in-person role requires meticulous organization, attention to detail, and the ability to keep samples, comments, and trackers moving without anything slipping through the cracks.

You’ll review submits, coordinate with Design and Production, manage the sample closet, and track lab dips, protos, and TOPs.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in product development, production, or design in apparel or lifestyle brands.
• Comfort with physical tasks like unpacking and moving boxes and samples.
• Strong organizational skills with trackers and charts you can trust.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets; able to build and maintain trackers.
• Familiarity with BOMs, lab dips, submits, protos, and TOPs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all submits for review by pulling previous approvals and coordinating with the Design Director/Senior Designer.
• File submits and relay all comments back to factories.
• Track all incoming/outgoing packages and prep contents for team review.
• Follow up on development requests (lab dips, submits, protos) until resolved.
• Help update BOMs during development and fitting processes.
• Coordinate samples for photoshoots, TOPs, and creative direction.
• Create/maintain a monthly sample tracker and production WIP template.
• Review TOPs with production and design as needed.
• Manage polybags, care labels, and UPC stickers.
• Maintain on-site sample inventory and closet.

We're looking for a Production & Development Coordinator to support our product development and production teams from first submit to final shipment. This is a hands-on, in-person role for someone who's organized, detail-obsessed, and comfortable being the person who keeps samples, packages, comments, and trackers moving without anything slipping through the cracks.

You'll sit close to how a Dairy Boy product actually gets made — pulling previous approvals to review a new submit, opening every package the moment it lands so the team can see it fresh, and following up on lab dips, protos, and development requests until they're resolved. On the production side, you'll request and track samples for photoshoots, TOPs, and creative director reviews, keep the monthly sample tracker and production WIP chart current, and check every polybag, care label, and UPC sticker before it goes further. You'll also work closely with our Head of Production and the design team — reviewing submits and TOPs independently first, then bringing your notes to them, so their time goes to final judgment calls instead of first passes.

The right person is meticulous in a way that shows up in their trackers, not just their to-do list. They can open a box of samples, spot what's off against the original approval, and know exactly who needs to see it and by when. They're comfortable with the physical, hands-on side of the job — unpacking shipments, organizing a sample closet, moving boxes — and just as comfortable being the person a factory hears from directly when a comment needs to go out.

Dairy Boy is scaling quickly, and this role sits right at the center of how a product moves from first sample to shelf. You'll work directly with senior leadership, have real ownership over how samples and production move through our process, and help make sure nothing the factories are waiting on ever goes quiet. What you’ll do

• Prepare all submits for review — pull previous approvals for comparison, review independently, then bring them to the Design Director/Senior Designer for final comments
• File every submit and send all comments back to the factories
• Track all incoming and outgoing packages, and open everything on arrival to prep contents for the team's review
• Follow up on every development request — lab dips, submits, and protos — until it's resolved
• Help update BOMs as needed throughout the development and fitting process
• Request and follow up on samples for photoshoots, TOPs, and the creative director, making sure everything arrives on time
• Create and maintain a monthly sample tracker chart
• Review all TOPs and bring them to production and design as needed
• Review and comment on polybags, care labels, and UPC stickers
• Create a monthly production WIP template and help keep it updated with development and sample status
• Organize and maintain the sample inventory and closet

What we’re looking for

• 0–2 years of experience in product development, production, or technical design at an apparel or lifestyle brand — internships and hands-on coursework count
• Comfortable with the physical side of the job — opening, sorting, and moving boxes and samples as they arrive
• Sharp organizational skills and real attention to detail — you're the person a tracker or WIP chart can be trusted to
• Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, strong enough to build and maintain trackers and charts from scratch
• Familiarity with BOMs, lab dips, submits, protos, and TOPs — or the ability to pick up the vocabulary fast
• Clear, professional written communication — you'll be sending comments directly to factories
• Comfortable working independently, with good judgment about when something needs to go to the Design Director or Senior Designer
• A genuine interest in how a product actually gets made, from first sketch to final production
• Able to work in person from Westport, CT — most of this work can't be done remotely
• A degree or coursework in fashion merchandising, apparel production, textile development, or a related field is a plus, but not required

Full-time, in-person role based in Westport, CT. This is hands-on work — reviewing samples and shipments as they arrive — so most of your week will be on-site.
