Job summary

Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati seeks a Production Designer to join our Beauty Care team. You will apply your graphic expertise to transform conceptual designs into print-ready and/or digital pieces, specializing in prepress, color correction, and profiling for digital printing.

You will work on packaging, promotional materials, visual communications, eCommerce, and social media, ensuring brand guidelines and regulatory requirements are met and assets are prepared for multiple suppliers.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Graphic Design or Visual Communication.
  • 2–5 years of design adaptation or production experience.
  • Portfolio showing production artwork for print and digital.
  • Strong prepress knowledge including color separation, trapping, and substrates.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Esko workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Description

We are looking for a Production Designer to join our Beauty Care team! As a BeautyHouse Production Designer within P&G, your focus will be on applying your graphic expertise and production techniques to independently transform conceptual designs into print-ready and/or digital pieces. The Production Designer is responsible for accurately driving final artwork files and will specialize in prepress activities, specifically color correction and profiling, with a concentration on digital printing, processes, outputs, and execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute the graphic adaptation of approved creative concepts across several consumer touchpoints, including packaging, promotional materials, visual communications, eCommerce, and social media.
  • Perform all necessary color work and apply basic artwork trapping for a variety of print techniques and suppliers.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation, including version control, asset libraries, and production specifications.
  • Effectively integrate brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and graphic specifications throughout all phases of artwork.
  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing.
Job Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or similar field.
  • 2‑5 years of full‑time design adaptation or graphic production experience, preferably within a creative agency, design studio, or in‑house creative department with a focus on consumer packaging.
  • A portfolio showcasing production artwork that demonstrates a proficient understanding of both print and digital media.
  • Excellent understanding of Prepress and Print Industry standards, including spot colors, varnish, foil, die cuts, deboss and/or embossing, and file standards such as bleed, trapping, color separation, resolution, dot shapes, screen print angles, FM/Stochastic, and exposure to a variety of paper and plastic substrates.
  • Strong understanding of color theory and image optimization with abilities in color correction and assembly skill sets.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to justify print technical choices with multi‑functional partners, give and receive feedback, and adapt in a constantly changing environment.
  • Disciplined with superior time and project management skills, able to set priorities and be accountable.
  • Expertise in the latest graphics and business programs: Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft (Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) for Mac, with fluent knowledge of Esko workflows required.
