Job summary

WEC Energy Group is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to support production, test, and development environments across multiple database servers. You will design, implement, monitor, and maintain SQL Server, Oracle, or HANA databases.

The role includes performance tuning, backup/maintenance tasks, and collaborating with development teams. It also requires on-call duties on a rotating schedule and a background check due to critical infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Applications DBA experience preferred.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or HANA.
• Knowledge of relational DBMS and ability to script SQL queries.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues at the database, instance, and server levels in a production environment.
• Perform query and database performance tuning, schema design, capacity planning, and change control management tasks.
• Design, implement, and manage jobs for backup, re-indexing, database optimization, and related tasks.
• Contribute to database design and code reviews with application development teams.
• Install and configure SQL Server, Oracle, or HANA according to defined SOPs.
• Baseline system performance, monitor for deviation, and optimize slow queries.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support role on a rotating basis.
• Carry a phone for emergency response.
