Job summary

A technology solutions provider is seeking a Database Administrator for a weekend support role. This position requires expertise in Oracle, MSSQL, DB2(UDB), and Sybase, as you will provide critical database support during late and weekend shifts. Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle, MSSQL, DB2(UDB), or Sybase databases.
• Ability to diagnose system problems and manage disaster recovery.
• Proven track record of managing SLAs and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide database support for major incidents and customer requests.
• Monitor performance and manage upgrades.
• Lead initiatives to improve database service offerings.
• Diagnose system problems and coordinate fixes.
• Lead improvement initiatives and develop run-books.
• Ensure SLAs are met and communications are clear during escalations.
• Document service delivery procedures and runbooks.
• Coordinate change management and escalation processes.

Job description

Location: Jersey city or Houston, TX
duration: contract to hire

Schedule

1. Monday to Friday 3pm to 12:00am Eastern (Late shift)
2. Friday Saturday, Sunday 8am to 9pm Mon 8am-12:00pm Eastern (W/E Shift)

Roles and Responsibilities

This position is for a weekend Database Support position supporting 12 hours Friday/Saturday/Sunday and 4 hours on Monday.

As a Database Administrator, you will work in a team environment to provide database support including:

• Support GTI and Line of Business (LOB) with major incidents, changes and customer requests.
• Upgrades & Performance Monitoring
• Replication Management
• Diagnosing system problems
• Disaster Recovery
• Leading and participating in initiatives to improve service offerings
• Creating and communicating service delivery procedures and run-books
• Managing SLAs and deadlines
• Providing timely resolutions to break/fix issues
• Change management and escalations
