Job summary

ServiceMaster RRH in Wharton, NJ is hiring a crew chief to lead restoration projects. You will oversee production technicians, ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, and act as the front-line representative of the SERVICEMASTER BY TIMELESS brand.

This full-time role requires at least 1 year in cleaning, restoration, or construction, strong supervision and communication skills, and a willingness to travel locally.

  • Manage and control labor and consumable usage on assigned projects.

Summary

The crew chief prescribes, coordinates, controls, and performs work activities on restoration projects to successfully fulfill service needs and facilitate a positive customer experience. As the front-line representative of the SERVICEMASTER BY TIMELESS brand, the crew chief demonstrates to customers and clients the company’s Here to Help commitment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a positive customer experience and ensure customer satisfaction of services.
  • Communicate clear expectations to production technicians and supervise their activities.
  • Coordinate and perform production processes as scheduled and ensure quality control.
  • Identify safety hazards, communicate, and establish control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers. Follow and oversee safe work practices and adherence to safety and risk management guidelines at all times.
  • Document a detailed and accurate job file to support the services provided.
  • Manage and control labor and consumable usage on assigned projects. Manage assets by protecting and properly using equipment and materials.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Coach and train production technicians.
  • Communicate with the production manager and office staff on project progress and issues.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle maintenance and equipment maintenance, as assigned. Oversee facility and grounds maintenance, as assigned.
  • Continue development of production expertise in services, cleaning products, and equipment.
  • Other tasks/duties as required by the employer.
Necessary Experience And Skill Set
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
Formal Education/Training
  • High school diploma/GED
  • IICRC certifications preferred
Physical And Work Environment Requirements

Regularly lifting 50 pounds independently, occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance, walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing ladders, working at ceiling heights, working in tight spaces (i.e., crawl spaces, attics), repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects, working with and around chemicals, and working overhead.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, including heat and noxious odors. The noise level in the work environment and jobsites may be loud. The employee will be required to occasionally wear a respirator for their safety.

Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, And Travel Requirements

This is a full-time position working 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours (beyond 8 hours a day), including some evening and weekend work. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Salary based on experience.

Compensation: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
