Qualifications

Cable Supervisor – Union, OH

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Cable Supervisor to join the Power Bus Way Team in Union, OH.


The Cable Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the cable cutting operations. This leadership position requires an individual who has experience in cable systems, a strong technical background, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. They will work closely with cable cutting teams, Programmers, shipping, receiving, purchasing and quality control to ensure that all cable installations meet company standards and customer expectations. Safety, quality control, and strong leadership will be central to the success of the Cable Supervisor in this role. This is a 'working supervisor' position. You will be expected to work alongside your team on the machines and in shipping/receiving for a significant portion of the day, while also managing schedules and workflow.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee and a manage cable cutters while ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

  • Train and motivate a team of cable cutters to ensure they meet performance standards and deadlines.

  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with company and industry standards, as well as safety regulations.

  • Monitor the use and maintenance of the cable cutting machine, tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and report any encountered issues or concerns.

  • Ensure adherence to all quality, safety regulations, protocols, SWI’s and best practices.

  • Collaborate with Programmers, shipping, receiving, purchasing, quality control and other departments to ensure smooth execution of projects.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all processes in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.

  • Act as the first line of defense for production technology. You must be able to independently troubleshoot daily hardware issues, including resolving printer errors (jams, calibration), resetting tablets, and fixing minor connectivity glitches to keep the line moving.

  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by diagnosing the root cause of equipment or process failures. You must be able to troubleshoot technical issues and use logic to solve complex operational problems without waiting for external direction.

  • Apply critical thinking and rapid problem-solving to minimize downtime and resolve daily workflow bottlenecks on the fly.

  • Maintain an agile mindset: You must be willing to perform tasks outside the standard scope of the job description whenever necessary to prevent bottlenecks and keep production flowing seamlessly.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with cable systems or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with team members.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook) to maintain clear, real-time communication with management and other departments, including digital shift handovers and incident reporting.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.

  • Must wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, long sleeves, long pants) and work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills required to troubleshoot machinery, technology, and logistical issues in a fast-paced environment.
