Job description

The Production Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that production orders are properly prepared and ready for execution before manufacturing begins.

This position serves as a critical link between Warehouse and Production by verifying raw materials, completing required production receipt transactions, confirming production documentation, preparing and validating barcode labels, and maintaining accurate system and production records.

The Production Coordinator works directly on the manufacturing floor and is responsible for identifying and escalating material, documentation, system, labeling, or traceability discrepancies that could impact production, quality, or schedule attainment.

This is a hands-on production support position and is not a supervisory role.

Essential Functions
  • Material Receipt and Verification
    • Receive raw materials transferred from Warehouse to Production.
    • Complete required Production Receipt transactions for materials received by Production.
    • Verify material part numbers, quantities, lot/batch numbers, and other required identifying information.
    • Compare physical materials against production orders, pick lists, bills of material, or other approved production documentation.
    • Identify and report shortages, overages, damaged materials, incorrect materials, or other discrepancies.
    • Ensure material discrepancies are resolved or properly escalated before affected production activities begin.
  • Production Order Readiness
    • Verify that the correct production order and supporting documentation are available before production starts.
    • Confirm required raw materials, documentation, system information, and labels are available and accurate.
    • Support production start-up readiness by identifying missing or incorrect information before it creates downtime.
    • Immediately communicate conditions that could delay or prevent production from starting as scheduled.
  • System Transactions and Traceability
    • Use SAP, MES, PDA/scanners, and other approved systems to complete required production transactions.
    • Scan materials and production information as required to maintain accurate material and product traceability.
    • Maintain accurate production records and ensure system transactions correspond with physical materials and production documentation.
    • Identify system discrepancies and escalation issues requiring correction or additional authorization.
  • Barcode and Label Control
    • Print barcode labels required for production.
    • Verify labels for correct part number, lot/batch information, quantity, production order, and other required information.
    • Ensure the correct labels are available before production begins.
    • Prevent incorrect or unverified labels from being released to production.
  • Production Completion Support
    • Identify and communicate raw material overages remaining after completion of a production work order.
    • Notify the Production Lead or Production Supervisor of unused or excess materials requiring disposition or return.
    • Support accurate reconciliation of materials used versus materials issued to production.
  • Quality, Safety, and Compliance
    • Follow all established Safety, Quality, Production, Material Control, and Document Control procedures.
    • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company requirements.
    • Immediately escalation of material, labeling, documentation, traceability, or system issues that could affect product quality or production.
    • Maintain an organized and controlled production support area.
    • Participate in training, continuous improvement activities, and other production initiatives as assigned.
    • Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
