Job summary

Precision Castparts is hiring for a production-focused role in Santa Ana, CA. The position ensures operators have tools and information to meet production requirements and monitors work orders to meet shipping timelines.

Responsibilities include supervising production quality, assisting in scheduling, basic troubleshooting, operator training, and ensuring environmental safety practices are followed. MSDS reading and proper labeling/storage are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of related experience in production/quality settings.
• Experience with blueprint reading and measurement tools.
• Familiarity with MS Office, scheduling software and MRP/QAD systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor production to ensure quality standards.
• Assist in scheduling work orders and coordinate with engineers, Quality, and Planners.
• May perform minor troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Operate production machinery during shortages or schedule changes.
• Assist in training and development of operators.
• Follow EH&S practices and conduct safety huddles.
• Read MSDS and manage chemical labeling/storage requirements.
• Disposal and scrap control in the focused factory.

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, ensures that machine operators have all the tools and information necessary to meet production requirements. Monitors work orders to ensure they make it through the production cycle in time to meet shipping requirements.

Position Accountabilities

• Oversees and monitors production to ensure quality standards are met, and performs verifications and inspections of products and machines.
• Assists in scheduling work orders for production and interfaces with engineers, the Quality department, and Planners, to ensure the timely production and shipment of products.
• May perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
• May operate production machinery when there are personnel shortages or changes in scheduling.
• Assists in the training and development of operators.
• Complies with all environmentally safe practices and regulations.
• Conducts EH&S self-inspection and safety huddles in areas of responsibility.
• Reads all MSDS’ and possesses thorough knowledge of all oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Ensures that scrap collection in their Focused Factory is being properly controlled and disposed.
