Highly Marelli USA, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead team leads and technicians in daily manufacturing operations, directing efforts to meet productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale targets.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, with familiarity in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, control plans, and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, including leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process improvement, project management, quality systems, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and statistical analysis tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs activities of team leads and technicians to meet productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety and morale targets.
  • Maintain 5S programs and ensure proper production facility management.
  • Develop, train, support, and counsel subordinate leaders and technicians.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve processes, address customer concerns, and meet scrap targets.
  • Plan manpower requirements and monitor labor efficiencies on manufacturing lines.
  • Lead in problem-solving and implement recovery and action plans for production issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation used on the manufacturing floor.

Job description

Under general supervision, the Production Supervisor is responsible for various activities of team leads and operations. Organizes and directs subordinate groups performing manufacturing functions and is responsible for conducting positive employee motivational programs while ensuring the maintenance of all company quality and production goals.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Directs activities of team leads and technicians on shift(s) in daily operation of production departments. Coordinates all efforts to meet Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale targets and enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Insure proper management of production facility through sound 5S programs.
  • Develop, advise, train, support, and counsel subordinate group leaders and technicians.
  • Implement tools and programs that streamline and simplify processes to increase flexibility of department management.
  • Planning and monitoring manpower requirements for manufacturing lines and department labor efficiencies.
  • Lead in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities with each production line and develop recovery and action plans to solve problems and/or issues.
  • Assist management in overall planning such a capacity, new launches, etc.
  • Monitors personnel issues, absenteeism, tardiness, and accident frequency of all operating departments and ensures appropriate action is taken when necessary.
  • Works with Manufacturing and Engineering departments to improve processes, meet scrap targets, and address customer concerns.
  • Communicate with off-shift supervisors and line leaders.
  • Create, develop, and maintain documentation used on the manufacturing floor.
  • Communicates frequently with internal contacts and occasionally with external contacts on various issues.
  • Must follow all company requirements in regards to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This work is performed in a general manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) required. A minimum of 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership or supervisory experience, is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, process improvement, project management, quality systems, and problem-solving methodologies. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and statistical analysis tools is preferred.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Intermediate to advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering software to support manufacturing operations. Ability to analyze production and quality data, develop process documentation, manage engineering projects, prepare technical reports and presentations, and utilize problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Lean Manufacturing tools. Proficiency CAD software, and statistical analysis tools is preferred.
