Production Planner

Job Summary: The Production Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the production of apparel goods to meet demand forecasts and delivery deadlines. This role requires a strong understanding of the apparel manufacturing process, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing production efficiency and managing complex supply chains within the retail apparel sector.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed production plans and schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Monitor production progress against plans, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with design, merchandising, sales, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment on product timelines and specifications.
• Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize stockholding.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to confirm production lead times, capacity, and delivery schedules.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Implement and maintain production planning systems and tools.
• Prepare and present production reports and performance metrics to management.
• Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in production planning and supply chain management within the apparel retail sector.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
• Minimum of [X] years of progressive experience in production planning, specifically within the apparel retail industry.
• Proven understanding of the apparel manufacturing lifecycle, including fabric sourcing, garment construction, and quality control.
• Solid experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with [specific planning software, e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, etc.].
• Knowledge of international trade and logistics regulations in the apparel industry.
