Description
Cameron Mackintosh Ltd are looking for an experienced individual to join the Production department at the main office in Bedford Square, London, from August 2025. The ideal candidate will be someone who prioritises and strives for artistic excellence. The Production Coordinator supports the Associate Producers and is responsible for the day-to-day management of specific CML productions and is a principal point of contact for internal and external colleagues.
Job Description
PERSON SPECIFICATION
· At least two years’ experience of musicals and/or plays in a professional theatre environment, ideally in
commercial theatre.
· Discrete and professional manner.
· Ability to be proactive and plan ahead
· Positive attitude.
· Organised, efficient and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Attentive to the requirements of the Associate Producers.
· Ability to remain calm and patient during difficult situations or in a very busy environment.
· Willingness and ability to travel.
· Flexible approach to work as some weekend and evening work will be required.
Main Duties on Specified Productions
- Reporting directly to the Associate Producer.
- Deputising for the Associate Producer for holidays, sickness or other absences.
- Managing enquiries and processing requests relating to the productions and reporting relevant information and questions to the Associate Producer.
- Assist in drafting production budgets with the Associate Producers.
- Negotiate deals for creative teams, cast and other production staff in line with budget and union agreements both independently and in collaboration with the Associate Producer.
- Maintain a record of deals done and ensure that all contracts are issued and accurately reflect these deals.
- Overseeing, drafting and issuing contracts for artists and creative staff as required.
- Work closely with the Technical Administrator of each show on the management of the production with the Associate Producer / Production Manager.
- Work closely with the Company Manager of each show on the management of the production personnel.
- With the Associate Producer and Executive Producer, produce and arrange the distribution of the royalty financial details.
- Liaise with the production insurance broker to ensure all aspects of the production are suitably insured with support from the Associate Producer. Keep an accurate and up to date log of all insurance policies on the production.
- Co-ordinate every aspect of press and media nights, including the compilation of the guest list, e-mailing invitations, seat allocation, distribution of tickets, logistics, press night parties and company gifts.
- Co-ordinate all logistics relating to press, marketing and promotional events, liaising with the press and marketing teams, performers, production departments, external venues, media outlets and broadcasters as applicable.
- Check and sign off the weekly payroll.
- Oversee the coding and processing of petty cash returns.
- Oversee the coding and signing off invoices in the Associate Producer’s absence or when requested.
- Check theatre contra statements, keep an accurate record of the data.
- Oversee visas, work permits and appropriate tax exemptions where necessary in connection with international touring productions and foreign personnel involved in UK productions.
- Oversee travel, transport, accommodation and per diems where necessary.
- Oversee the delivery of production programmes, compiling content and gaining creative approval from the Associate Producer and Executive Producer.
- Attend running shows, including cover runs, on a regular basis.
- Assist the Associate Producer and Production Manager, where necessary, with the management of all those that work on the production.
- Where necessary, with support from the Children’s Administrator, oversee and manage the administration involved in casting, contracting and licensing children in the relevant productions.
