Job description

OVERVIEW :

This position will be responsible for planning daily production schedules for operations with input from both operations and sales management. This position reports to the Sales Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS :

  • Forecast weekly Value-Added Schedule.
  • Plan daily production with plant and sales management.
  • Reconcile daily inventory with orders.
  • Work closely with sales and production to determine the best use and schedule of in-house raw material.
  • Implement a weekly production run schedule from the Sales representative(s).
  • Work with Plant Superintendents to efficiently fill orders based on plants' operational capacity.
  • Manage product age, to optimize return on the product.
  • Work with shipping to ensure orderly shipment priority to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Actively check and verify processes and order progress on the production floor. (This should include multiple and regularly scheduled daily trips to the production floor.)
  • Actively communicates with the Sales Manager to keep them abreast of progress on orders throughout the day and offers suggestions for process improvement ideas as needed.
  • Provide product codes as needed.
  • Provide daily production reports during shift transition meetings.
  • Participate in daily production meetings with shipping, production managers, and sales representatives.
  • Exhibit the highest possible level of customer service to all customers, visitors, and prospects.
  • Flexibility to work any production hours as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • Three to five years of experience in a production management role(s) are REQUIRED.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and plant management.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Compassionate to customers' needs.
  • Have strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of computers.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Can thrive in a team environment.
  • Excellent follow-through skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Lifting - may involve periodic moving/lifting of heavy items exceeding 25 lbs.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May be exposed to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers, and chemicals used in the poultry processing facility.
  • The candidate must have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful in unforeseen situations.
