Description
Markey’s is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Coordinator with 2-5 years of audiovisual production experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing breakout rooms, developing production boards, and leading union crews in a dynamic event setting. This role requires strong organizational abilities, leadership skills, and technical expertise to oversee AV production at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.
Hiring for a Full-Time, salaried (exempt) position, eligible for overtime. Schedule can vary based on events and may include evenings and weekends.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee AV production logistics for breakout rooms, ensuring efficient setup and execution.
- Develop and manage production boards, maintaining clear workflows and schedules.
- Lead and coordinate union crew members, ensuring adherence to industry standards and venue protocols.
- Lead and direct Event Technicians in preparing and executing live and virtual events.
- Organize and review show materials in advance, communicating any changes effectively.
- Operate AV equipment as needed, performing hands-on technical responsibilities.
- Manage power distribution, rigging requirements, and technical AV setups.
- Provide effective troubleshooting and responses to technical inquiries.
- Participate in planning meetings to ensure smooth event execution.
- Foster strong relationships with Convention Center Event Coordinators, clients, and event organizers.
- Review upcoming events and coordinate labor and equipment needs with Director of Event Technology and Account Manager.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AV event operations.
- Be familiar with or willing to learn basic CAD drawing to assist in event planning and setup designs.
- Oversee additional Convention Center AV needs as required.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in audiovisual production.
- Strong knowledge of breakout room management, production boards, and crew leadership.
- Experience in handling union crews in a professional setting.
- Working knowledge or willingness to learn basic CAD drawing (Vectorworks or similar).
- Hands-on experience with video switching, projection, line array audio, lighting programming, and rigging.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.) and AV-related software.
- Must be able to lift/transfer equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including weekends.
Preferred Skills
- Prior knowledge in large-scale convention center events.
- Technical expertise in AV equipment setup, power management, and troubleshooting.
- Strong collaboration and leadership abilities.
