Elephants Delicatessen is hiring a Cook for our Production Kitchen in Portland. The role involves preparing high-quality items across multiple production areas, following standardized recipes and strict food safety practices.

You will collaborate with a team to meet daily production targets in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of high-volume kitchen experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while standing long hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of commercial kitchen, food production, or high-volume food service experience.
• Experience preparing large-batches.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce all food precisely according to Elephant's recipes and standards.
• Scale recipes to meet daily production needs.
• Maintain consistent taste, presentation, portioning, and labeling.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature control standards.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and report malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Support inventory rotation, stocking, and waste reduction efforts.
• Work across multiple production departments as assigned.
• Complete required production records, including time and temperature logs.
• Follow allergen-control and food safety procedures.
• Assist with sanitation and end-of-shift cleaning responsibilities.
• Communicate production priorities clearly with supervisors and team members.
• Participate in required training.
