Elephants Delicatessen seeks a dynamic Line Cook to join a guest-focused team in Portland. You will prepare food to recipe standards, maintain hygiene, and support a fast-paced BOH environment while delivering outstanding hospitality.

The ideal candidate balances clear communication with accountability, working flexible hours including weekends and holidays, in a multi-location operation.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience with flat top grill preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to stay composed and solution-oriented under pressure.
• High standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service: task pivot and converse with customers.
• Engage in active selling.
• Sale and promotion of products; Help direct customers around the store and menu.
• Maintain excellent product knowledge.
• Produce all food precisely according to Elephants' recipes.
• Properly use equipment as specified by Manager and trainer.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Cross-train in various BOH roles.
• Reinforce service, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Monitor workflow and pace during peak hours.
• Address guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.
