Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Prod Cook 1 for the beautiful new Barton Creek Resort & Spa! If you love hospitality, creating memorable customer experiences, and value the benefits of working with a hotel company, then you will enjoy working with Omni!

Responsibilities

1. Independently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to company specifications.
2. Identify and inspect all food products for quality.
3. Follow storage procedures when handling food in walk-in refrigerators.
4. Use culinary equipment safely and properly.
5. Demonstrate solid understanding of cooking skills and techniques.
6. Maintain walk-in, prep area, and equipment in compliance with Health Department and EcoSure standards.
7. Attend department meetings and required trainings.
8. Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. At least 2-3 years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
2. Ability to work efficiently without immediate supervision.
3. Familiarity with weights and measures to follow and adjust recipes.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. Basic mathematical skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
7. Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
8. Texas Food Handlers certification required.

Physical Requirements

• Good eye/hand coordination to operate kitchen equipment.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to handle knives, spatulas, tongs, etc.
• Ability to bend, stand for long periods, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 70 lbs.

Working Environment

• Indoor hotel environment in restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to humidity, steam, and extreme temperatures.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals used in food and beverage preparation.
