Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Controller 1 for a contract opportunity in Oxnard, CA. The role supports manufacturing planning and production control, maintaining material requirements and inventory accuracy.

Applicants should have a high school diploma with 2-5 years of related experience, familiarity with ERP Costpoint, forklift operations, and strong teamwork and communication skills. On-site, full-time schedule 9/80.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-5 years additional education and/or related experience are required.
• Experience with ERP (Deltek Costpoint) and inventory control is required.
• Capable of using forklift and other inventory related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control by optimizing inventory storage systems.
• Optimize inventory storage systems.
• Interface with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Production Control and other related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material.
• Make decisions on part categorization, default bin size and location; research kit shortages and expedite missing kits.
• Understand, research, and reconcile traceability; ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement practices; manage projects with relevant software tools.
• Support the organization's metric goals and objectives.
• Analyze flow of material to reduce time from request to delivery.
• Pack and ship outgoing orders via UPS, FedEx and various freight carriers.
• Receive and transact all incoming material in MRP system; conduct cycle counts to validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
• Expedites flow of materials between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
• Assist in identifying shortages and initiates corrective actions.
