Job summary

The Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) seeks a Production Controller to monitor and manage the Master Schedule, ensuring timely processing of computer and Mobius batch jobs. You will interpret and adjust the schedule, verify successful job completions, and coordinate with programming and systems teams for issue resolution.

This role requires strong JCL skills, experience with batch environments, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional staff to maintain smooth production

Qualifications

• Requires three (3) years of professional experience in production control operations, including analysis, scheduling and execution of batch processing using JCL.
• Includes library management (moves, purges, deletions, restorations) and abend/utility analysis to resolve issues.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with mainframe tools and batch job scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control production jobs to ensure timely execution according to the Master Schedule.
• Interpret and modify the Master Schedule as needed and coordinate with teams.
• Verify batch processing results and address abends or failures, coordinating with programming/system staff as required.
• Prepare outputs for special handling and ensure documentation reflects standards.
• Perform general production control duties and contribute to continuous improvement of processes.
