Job summary

Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Production Controller to manage advanced information system operation control tasks and the Master Schedule. You will analyze, schedule, monitor, and adjust production jobs to ensure on-time delivery and successful completions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with batch processing, and the ability to coordinate with programming and systems staff to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires three years of related experience.
• Requires two years of college including coursework in data processing field.
• Requires two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, serves a Production Controller performing advanced information system operation control work.
• Monitors processing of computer jobs and Mobius batch jobs to guarantee execution and output to schedule.
• Verifies batch processing completion and restarts or notifies staff for intervention when abends occur.
• Provides technical guidance to coworkers in resolving problematic situations and assists with job analysis on abends and errors.
• Prepares, packages and labels outputs for jobs requiring special handling and performs utility functions for processing.
