Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Grand Prairie is hiring a Production Controller to convert the production schedule into an efficient sequence and monitor progress on the shop floor. You will collaborate with operations, material planning and customer service to meet customer requirements, while driving improvements for on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical engineering background, 2+ years in manufacturing, and proficiency with MS Excel and SAP/MES data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering desired; others considered based on experience.
  • 2+ years in a production/manufacturing role; recently graduated candidates considered.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, monitoring, reporting and driving production to adhere to production sequence.
  • Coordinate and balance supply and demand; evaluate capacity and material supply to develop detailed plans.
  • Plan and prioritize operations with production and customer service to meet customer deadlines while supporting financial goals.
  • Drive and coordinate daily production meetings.
  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly manufacturing schedules to meet demand.
  • Analyze MES data to develop continuous improvement strategies.
  • Review and update SAP material master or configurations as needed.
  • Ensure delivery reliability, schedule adherence and cost-saving productivity initiatives for the site.

Our growing facility has more than 1,200 employees that produce high-quality, make-to-order power distribution equipment for the western United States market. Our processes include material handling, metal fabrication, final assembly and test. The position is responsible for converting the incoming production schedule into an efficient production sequence based on designs, material availability and line status. Responsible for monitoring the status of the production sequence and driving improvement actions for adherence.

You will make an impact by:
  • Creating, monitoring, reporting and driving production to adhere to production sequence.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering desired, although candidates with varying degrees will also be considered based on experience.
  • 2 plus years of experience in production role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Buyer, Planner, or a Master Scheduler roles. Will consider recently college graduate for this role as well.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Particularly Excel).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

The pay range for this position is $60,333 - $103,428 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
