Job summary

FTG Circuits, a unit of Firan Technology Group, seeks a Production Control Manager in the Los Angeles area to oversee scheduling, planning, and materials coordination in a PCB rigid-flex manufacturing environment.

You will lead production control, coordinate cross-department communication, and optimize workflows across fabrication and assembly lines to meet delivery and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in production control in PCB/electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong PCB manufacturing processes knowledge and capacity planning.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and Excel.
  • Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet delivery commitments and optimize production capacity.
  • Oversee order release, work order generation, and job prioritization to ensure smooth flow through all manufacturing stages (lamination, drilling, imaging, plating, routing, final inspection).
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and coordinate with production supervisors to resolve bottlenecks and capacity imbalances.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing to align schedules with material availability, design changes, and customer priorities.
  • Analyze production data, on-time delivery (OTD) metrics, and WIP aging to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP system accuracy for job tracking, material requirements, and capacity planning.
  • Lead and mentor production control staff, promoting a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and communicate schedule updates to all key stakeholders.
  • Drive initiatives that improve lead times, reduce scrap, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, and other applicable industry quality standards.

Job Description Position Overview

The Production Control Manager oversees all scheduling, planning, and materials coordination activities within the PCB rigid-flex manufacturing environment. This role ensures that customer orders are produced efficiently, on schedule, and within quality standards. The Manager leads the production control team in developing and maintaining accurate production schedules, coordinating cross-departmental communication, and optimizing workflow across fabrication and assembly lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet delivery commitments and optimize production capacity.
  • Oversee order release, work order generation, and job prioritization to ensure smooth flow through all manufacturing stages (lamination, drilling, imaging, plating, routing, final inspection).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of production control experience in the PCB or electronics manufacturing industry; rigid-flex experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, materials flow, and capacity planning.
  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Proven record of improving on-time delivery and production efficiency metrics.
Physical Requirements

Office and manufacturing floor environment. Occasional standing, walking, or lifting of materials 25 lbs. Frequent interaction with manufacturing, planning, and purchasing teams.

Working Conditions

May be exposed to chemicals, dust, and high noise levels. May be required to work in a clean room environment. May be required to remain on call during some portion of off shift hours. May be required to work off shift hours and overtime. May be required to travel within North American.
