Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Production Associate in Rocky Mount, VA. The role involves fabricating components for final window assemblies in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. You will handle repetitive tasks, read work orders, use various tools, and assist with material handling.

Training may run up to six weeks, Monday–Friday 6a–6p. Benefits start on day one and a shoe voucher/reimbursement is offered. Must be able to pass background/drug tests and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Experience in manufacturing and ability to read a tape measure is preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• Assist with loading, unloading, wrapping, and delivering materials as needed.
• Use hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers per work orders.
• Read and follow verbal and written instructions and schedules.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

Shift 1st: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday

Shift 3rd: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

Training period requires working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately.

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing
• Preferably with experience reading a tape measure
