Pay rate: $17/hr with a $1.00 shift differential
What You'll Do
- Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
- Support and participate in employee engagement activities
- Follow defined clean‑up times
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
- Follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
- Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers
- Identify problems and communicate issues
- Assist with training co‑workers
- Support a respectful workplace
- Perform other duties across the plant as directed by supervision or management
- Read minimum word and number recognition/visual cues
- Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and know when to change PPE
- Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards, protocols and PPE
- Have knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
- Follow instruction and standard work while frequently referencing standard work instructions
- Know product defects specific to your workstation
- Recognize quality in station quality requirements/CTQ
- Communicate effectively by listening actively, explaining clearly and accurately, asking questions, and sharing important information
- Manage time and be aware of cycle times
- Perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals
- Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating and identifying downloads
- Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion
- Use root cause analysis for problem solving
- Be dependable and on time consistently
- Recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing
- Monitor inventory by adhering to min‑max levels (WIP) and utilization of scrap
- Keep records accurate, timely and legible; document scrap
- Train operators
- Oversee multiple workstations
- Interpret and understand schedule adherence
- Manage line flow
- Lead when required
- Wear required PPE (metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses)
- Be dependable, punctual and detail‑oriented
- Hold a high school diploma (preferred)
- Bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand as required
- Lifting at least 50 pounds continuously for 8 to 12 hours a day
- Work in hot and cold environments
- Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs
- Be willing and able to work various positions in various departments (cross‑trained)
- Perform tasks that require repetitive motion and standing for long periods
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations
- Follow supervisors’ instructions and directions as given
- Possess problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative skills
- Have preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionalities
