Job Overview

The Production Associate 2 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely produce a quality product and minimize waste/cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant.

What You’ll Do

• Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products.
• Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
• Follow defined clean‑up times.
• Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.
• Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations.
• Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers.
• Identify problems; communicate issues.
• Assist with training co‑workers.
• Support a respectful workplace.
• Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management.

Qualifications

• Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues.
• Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE.
• Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE.
• Knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances.
• Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referencing Standard work instructions.
• Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation.
• Quality recognition in station quality requirements/CTQ.
• Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly & accurately, asking questions, sharing important info.
• Time management and awareness of cycle times.
• Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals.
• Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying download.
• Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion.
• Problem solving using Root Cause Analysis.
• Dependability being on time consistently.
• Profile recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing.
• Monitor inventory by adhering to min‑max levels (WIP) utilization of scrap.
• Record keeping being accurate, timely, legible/scrap.
• Ability to train operators.
• Ability to oversee multiple workstations.
• Ability to interpret and understand schedule adherence.
• Manage line flow.
• Ability to lead.
• Ability to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses.
• Dependability/punctuality & detail oriented.
• High school diploma is preferred.
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand is required.
• Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required.
• Ability to work in hot & cold environment is required.
• Be able to work extended hours and weekend based on business needs is required.
• Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross‑trained) is required.
• Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required.
• Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is required.
• Ability to follow supervisors instructions/directions as given is required.
• Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative.
• Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionalit.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
