Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Production Associate I for the 2nd shift. Base pay is $17.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential, with overtime potential. Shifts vary as 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on orders and season.

You will assist in assembly, labeling, packing, and preparing goods for shipping, while upholding safety and quality standards in a non-temperature-controlled plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks as directed by the department supervisor or team lead.
• Engage in the assembly process, transforming materials into sub-assemblies or final products.
• Affix labels and tags to products and packaging.
• Prepare finished goods for shipping and monitor progress on schedule boards.
• Report equipment or material discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
• Operate in a manufacturing setting using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Organize finished products on the assigned pallet.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety in the workplace.
• Assist with hemming and the relocation of finished materials to trucks, utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Operate comfortably in a manufacturing environment without temperature control.

Job Description

Base pay rate is $17.50 per hour + $1.00 shift differential

2nd Shift starts: 4:30PM

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.

The Production Associate I is integral to our company’s product manufacturing process. This role is committed to executing all production‑related tasks with precision and adherence to established protocols. By practicing safe work habits and following standard methodologies, the Production Associate I ensures that our production operations are both effective and secure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out tasks as directed by the department supervisor or team lead.

Engage in the assembly process, utilizing techniques such as sewing, cutting, clipping, and hooking to transform raw materials into sub‑assemblies or final product.

Affix labels and tags to products and their packaging appropriately.

Prepare finished goods for shipping by packing them effectively.

Monitor production progress on schedule boards.

Report any equipment or material discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.

Organize finished products on the assigned pallet.

Uphold cleanliness and safety in the workplace.

Assist with hemming and the relocation of finished materials to trucks, utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.

Operate comfortably in a manufacturing environment without temperature control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
