Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Production Associate for second or third shift. You will operate and maintain production equipment with safety as the highest priority, follow SOPs, and monitor quality while rotating across modules. Collaboration with team leaders and other crews is essential to meet productivity goals.

You will review product quality, provide feedback, and assist with changeovers and setups as required, ensuring total good pieces and adherence to standards.

Shift Information
  • Second shift: 3:00p.m. – 11:00p.m.
  • Third shift: 11:00p.m. – 7:00a.m.
Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain production equipment and processes with safety as the highest priority.
  • Follow safety, housekeeping 7‑S, quality, internal and external standards.
  • Understand the importance of operations, productivity goals and proper machine operation.
  • Use documented procedures: Standard Operating Procedures, Rework Instructions, Work Instructions, Preventive Maintenance Instructions, Inspection Instructions, Reaction Plans, Process Set‑up Instructions, and the Associate Handbook.
  • Review and verify the quality of products at the assigned process and provide feedback to the Module Team Leader, Quality Specialists, etc.
  • Rotate to appropriate operations when assigned by the Module Team Leader or Crew Manager.
  • Facilitate communication between operations within the assigned Module, between modules, and between crews.
  • Provide relief to other employees as required.
  • Assist the Utility Specialist with changeovers and setups at required operations.
  • Complete operation productivity and Pareto sheets, verifying total good pieces, total scrap pieces, and providing feedback on process and operation.
Skills & Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • One (1) year experience in manufacturing operations (preferred).
