Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join the Driveline team in Detroit. The role oversees maintenance of manufacturing equipment, assesses performance, and drives improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate with vendors, and ensure adherence to production standards while managing costs and data accuracy across maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of relevant professional experience, or Advanced Degree with 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and workflow to meet departmental goals and operational objectives.
  • Monitor performance to standards, budgets, and departmental goals.
  • Recommend or implement measures to empower associates and improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Supervise maintenance associates, including selection, orientation, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals.
  • Meet maintenance operational standards by implementing production, quality, customer service, safety, security, and health standards; resolve problems and identify system improvements.
  • Oversee tooling section, monitor inventory, coordinate with vendors, participate in cost-saving ideas, and maintain tooling/maintenance costs below budget.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to meet cost standards via cost-saving actions.
  • Complete shift operations by monitoring maintenance services, reallocating resources, and solving operational problems.
  • Document maintenance services by completing forms, reports, logs, and records to ensure data accuracy.
  • Evaluate systems and equipment performance, identify problems and requirements.
  • Keep systems and equipment operating via preventive maintenance programs; operate and test systems and equipment.
  • Improve systems and equipment performance by studying results, recommending changes, expansions, and additions.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and legal regulations.
  • Prepare maintenance information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Contribute to maintenance and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests and helping others accomplish job results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

#TeamAAM is looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Driveline team in Detroit. The Maintenance Coordinator oversees proper functioning and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and technologies in a plant, assesses equipment performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements performance improvements. The role coordinates with vendors to schedule routine or preventive maintenance, monitors warranties, works closely with engineering and suppliers to solve equipment and manufacturing issues, identifies recurring problems, recommends corrective measures, and supervises a team of equipment maintenance specialists.
