Job summary

F&S Fresh Foods in Houston, TX, is seeking a Production Associate to join our fresh foods production teams. You will help prepare, slice, package and label products for retail, while supporting line efficiency and quality control.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, comfort with standing in a refrigerated environment, basic computer skills, and a willingness to follow GMP and safety procedures to ensure safe, nutritious products reach families nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment is helpful.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods in a chilled environment.
• Know safe work practices (GMP) in food manufacturing.
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce, assemble and package fresh products on the line.
• Follow specifications to cut, slice, dice, and label.
• Participate in changeovers, sanitation, and monthly inventory counts.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and report safety concerns.
• Support overall factory efficiency and safety compliance.

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Associate works within one or more manufacturing departments to prepare fresh foods for retail sale. Responsible for routine preparation, slicing, dicing, production, assembly line and packing tasks. Participates and assists with tasks that may include setup, startup, production, loading, labeling, stacking, sorting, packaging, weighing, preparing for shipping, and other miscellaneous tasks. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for routine preparation, production, assembly line and packing tasks. Assists with the overall efficiency of the factory which may include setup, startup, staging raw materials, assembly, production, loading, labeling, stacking, sorting, preparing for shipping, and other miscellaneous routine tasks. Duties include:

• At this level, tasks are often routine and repetitive within any of the food production or warehouse departments.
• Follows specification and instructions to cut, slice, dice, peal, assemble, prep, stock, assemble and process fresh products, raw materials, and snacks in all operational areas.
• May be required to de box materials, assemble food products, sandwiches and snacks, rack finished goods, break down boxes and containers.
• Will participate in changeovers, washing down lines, sanitizing workspaces, assisting with monthly inventory counts, sorting, staging,
• Follows all GMP’s required of employees, understands USDA requirements, and ensures safe food practices are always followed.
• Responsible for working safely, lifting items properly, wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and notifying a manager of employees that may need to be reminded of proper ways of working.
• Ensure quality and safety of food products by periodic inspection and review of finished products for uniformity to specifications, label integrity, presentation.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation between product runs and/ or shifts, as required.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Performs other duties as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience working in a chilled manufacturing environment is helpful
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods while working in a chilled environment
• Good knowledge and understanding of Safe work practices common to food manufacturing
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) helpful
• Basic computer skills (Word and Excel) preferred.

• Ability to apply safe work practices, GMP’s, and best practices in a food manufacturing environment
