Job summary

Sheridan in Brainerd, MN is seeking a hands-on printing assistant to support press operations. You’ll train on high-speed printing equipment, load paper, and monitor fountain solution while upholding quality standards.

You will work with a team on a full-time, on-site role with safety gear provided and overtime potential. Entry-level friendly, with training offered for those without bindery experience.

Qualifications

Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.).

Responsibilities

Help operate the printing press in coordination with the Press Operator.
Load paper and monitor fountain solution parameters.
Inspect finished products for quality compliance.
Troubleshoot minor issues to keep production moving.
Follow safety rules and maintain a clean workspace.

Job Duties

At Sheridan Minnesota, your work doesn’t disappear into a spreadsheet—it becomes books, catalogs, and printed materials people use every day. If you’ve worked with machines, enjoy hands‑on work, and take pride in quality, we’ll train you to run high‑speed printing equipment.

This is a 1st shift position - working Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 3PM with potential for overtime hours.

What You’ll Do

Work with Press Operator to aid in the operation of the printing press.
Ensure paper is loaded and monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution on presses.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

It’s a Plus If You Have

Print, bindery, or finishing experience.
Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment.
Graphic arts and/or technical school background.

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.

On your feet for most of the shift

Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
