Job summary

Bolthouse Fresh Foods in Bakersfield, California, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3:45 PM – 2:00 AM) to monitor and maintain production equipment in a fast-paced plant.

You will read and execute work orders, coordinate with production and maintenance teams, train new staff, and uphold sanitation and safety standards to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience.
• Valid Driver License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns.
• Give updates on equipment statuses.
• Read and prepare work orders.
• Create logistics to perform work while coordinating with production, maintenance, and supervisors.
• Monitor production area.
• Respond to maintenance calls.
• Check code dates, work orders, and inspect equipment.
• Train new employees on how to safely work on or near equipment or heavy machinery.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe plant.
• Inspect work area.
• Perform clean-up using proper tools and machinery as needed.
• Notify supervisor of any object found or pest sighted in the work area.
• Must enforce all sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor and ensure that Big Blue, Cello Pit, and South Plant run smoothly.
• Perform other assigned duties.

What You’ll Be Responsible For In This Role

• Responsible for notifying supervisor of any object found or pest sighted in the work area.
• Must be aware of the following and assist in interpreting and enforcing them: ALL sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor and ensure that the following areas are running smoothly and not backing up: “Big Blue”, Cello Pit, and South Plant.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High School/GED Diploma or one to two years experience in related field or a combination of both education and experience
• Valid Driver License and clean driving record

Required Skills And Abilities

• Effective communication skills.
• Punctual, excellent attendance record, and cooperate with others.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Apply common sense, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form

Preferred Qualifications

• Two to three years’ experience in production maintenance (production worker).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Mechanically inclined
• Forklift certified

Physical Demands

• Ability to ascend and descent ramps, steps, ladders, stairs using three-point contact
• Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions ( 95 °Fahrenheit or above ).
• Environment exposure –cold/wet conditions ( 40 °Fahrenheit or below )
• Material exposure-moving mechanical parts
• Occasional exposure to environmental factors such as fumes, airborne particles and vibrations.
• Must be able to lift/push-pull/carry up to 50-55 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period

• 2nd shift 3:45 PM – 2:00 AM; Monday-Friday; Occasionally Saturdays/Sundays; Hours subject to change; Overtime and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs
