Client Overview:
Our client is a leading fashion and apparel company seeking an organized and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support their Product Development and Production teams.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$27.50/hr
Position Overview:
The Production Assistant will support the development and production of apparel styles from concept through production. This role will work closely with Design, Fabric, Merchandising, Sourcing, and external vendor teams to track samples, approvals, production timelines, costing, and delivery.
Responsibilities of the Production Assistant:
- Support the development and production of new apparel styles from concept through production.
- Communicate with internal teams and external vendors regarding style development, production, and delivery.
- Track fabric, trim, wash development, samples, and approvals to ensure timelines are met.
- Monitor production status and identify potential delivery risks.
- Prepare and send product information and packages to vendors and track deliveries.
- Maintain and organize costing, style, and production records.
- Support the purchase order process and coordinate with Merchandising and Production teams.
- Assist with production planning, sourcing, and delivery.
- Prepare agendas and participate in cross-functional meetings.
- Communicate updates and follow up with relevant teams to ensure projects stay on track.
Required Experience/Skills for the Production Assistant:
- 1+ year of related experience, preferably within apparel, fashion, production, or merchandising.
- Experience with PLM or a similar Product Lifecycle Management system.
- Strong Excel and computer skills.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and with external partners.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Production Assistant:
- Apparel production or product development experience.
- Experience working with apparel fabrics, trims, or garment development.
- Experience with fleece and woven products is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Gmail, and other business software.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field is preferred.
