Job summary

Mars Incorporated is hiring a Production Assistant for the Day Shift at our Hackettstown, NJ facility. You will operate and oversee a designated set of machines, support the production line, and ensure safety and quality throughout the shift.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer and iPad skills, and a willingness to train on site. The position offers training, competitive hourly pay starting around $20 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

Mars Wrigley- Production Assistant: Day Shift- Hackettstown, NJ

• Pay: Based on experience starting at $20.86/hour+
• This site manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms (this is a PEANUT facility)
• Training is available

Shift Schedule:

• Shift:First Shift
• Schedule:2-2-3 (rotating)
• Hours: 6:30am- 7:00pm(Day Shift)

Description of Role:

The Production Assistant is responsible for operating and overseeing a designated set of machines, equipment (including mules), and/or processes within the manufacturing facility.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Mechanical aptitude and/or willing to train in manufacturing equipment
• Proficient in computer and iPad software, including Microsoft Office and email applications

Physical Requirements:

• Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
• Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree or certification
• 1+ year hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry
• Mechanical or technical training
• Forklift or mule operating experience

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Responsible for the performance and safety of machines, processes and personnel, within the plant
• Drive mules to transport candy and materials
• Start up, shut down, monitor, clean, and perform basic changeovers on equipment
• Conduct minor repairs, routine checks, inspections and escalating issues
• Operate basic ancillary equipment and utilize relevant computer programs
• Perform any ad hoc tasks as required

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
