Job summary

Pittsburgh Robotics Network is seeking a Production Assembly Technician to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical products. You will train teammates, help develop work instructions, and strive to raise quality, reliability, and value across our offerings.

You’ll work in a cross-functional cell, follow precise work instructions, document issues, interpret engineering drawings, and support safety initiatives such as 5S, ESD, and FOD while growing leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Electromechanical technician with ability to assemble using small hand tools
  • Able to work in a cross-functional team and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift more than 40 lbs
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret production documents and instructions

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical products following work instructions
  • Train and guide team members; help develop work instructions and checklists
  • Document issues, record data and photos for historical records
  • Interpret engineering prints and schematics as well as production documents
  • Collaborate in a cell with 1–3 other Assembly Technicians
  • Support safety and quality initiatives including 5S, ESD, and FOD

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Production Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembly, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical products. In addition, your role will include the training and guidance of team members, aiding the development of work instructions, and constantly striving to bring our product offerings to the highest level of quality, reliability, and value.

What Your Day To Day Is
  • Assembling and testing electromechanical products while carefully following work instructions
  • Troubleshooting small electromechanical products such as cameras, sensors, and integrated logic modules
  • Troubleshooting processes and test equipment
  • Properly documenting issues that arise during the manufacturing process, such as failures, assembly problems or anomalies, or tooling malfunctions
  • Recording data and photos as required to create historical records of your work
  • Interpreting engineering prints and schematics
  • Interpreting and developing production documents such as work instructions and checklists
  • Collaboratively working in a cell with 1-3 other Assembly Technicians
  • Training production employees on safety, quality, and internal processes
  • Supporting all safety and quality initiatives including 5S, ESD, FOD
  • Supporting process improvements and developing leadership skills
  • Performing other related duties as required
What You Should Be
  • Highly skilled as an electromechanical technician
  • Able to work with small hand tools to properly assemble intricate electrical components utilizing small hardware and connectors.
  • Able to excel within a cross-functional team environment
  • Proactive and action-oriented; works the details as necessary
  • Possessing excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Able to lift more than 40 lbs.
How You’ll Stand Out
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with precision instrumentation and complex electromechanical systems
