Production Assembly Technician

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Production Assembly Technician to serve as a skilled technical specialist in building, aligning, and testing high precision Electro-Optical and mechanical systems for production Space/Satellite programs. The role involves assisting engineers with developing test and alignment fixtures and tools.

Responsibilities:

1. Fabricate subassemblies and integrate them with electrical, optical, and mechanical components for production units.
2. Follow detailed, pre-approved work instructions and test procedures, recording detailed test data in Travelers.
3. Support requests for parts, materials, and equipment needed for assembly and testing.
4. Ensure tools, equipment, and consumables are calibrated and within expiration dates.
5. Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, testing results, and modifications.
6. Create documentation outlining assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
7. Inspect products, materials, or components for defects or deviations from quality standards using various tools.
8. Collaborate with engineers and team members to provide feedback on design and manufacturing processes.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Five years of experience building and testing complex high precision electro-optical assemblies.
• Experience with fiber optic splicing, including arc fusion splicers, cleavers, and re-coaters.
• Proficiency with optical testing equipment such as sources, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and record information in Travelers for traceability.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree with five years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience working in a Cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7) with proper safety precautions.
• Skillful manual dexterity and ability to follow precise instructions and read electrical schematics.
• Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and willingness to learn new skills.
• Familiarity with schematic capture design tools and process improvement methodologies is preferred.

Desired:

• Experience with hand soldering in compliance with J-STD-0001 space addendum.

Pay Range
