Job Description

Water Science Technologies, a company of Italmatch USA Corporation, is hiring a Chemical Production Operator in Jane Lew, WV. The Chemical Production Operator mixes raw materials to create finished products according to batch tickets.

Position Description:

The production operator is responsible for mixing raw materials to create finished products according to production orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Sets up and starts all mixing tanks and blenders.
2. Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch.
3. Pumps and pours chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities.
4. Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely.
5. Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the correct quantity and information on containers, and that containers are in good condition.
6. Follows lab instructions regarding batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements.
7. Cleans equipment when needed.
8. Refers issues/problems to the Production Supervisor.
9. Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner.
10. Observes safety requirements set forth by the company.
11. Performs other related duties as required.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.
• Able to manipulate 55-gallon drums of chemicals.
• Must have mathematical skills to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using weight and volume measurements.
• Able to manipulate powder bags up to 50 lbs.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Able to drive a forklift – a valid forklift certification is a plus but not required.
