Job description

Job Description: Production Assembler / Machine-CNC Operator

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be a key part of our production team, ensuring production quotas are met promptly while maintaining high safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for assembling components into finished products, following established procedures and quality standards, often using hand tools and machinery in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Carefully assemble product components according to work instructions, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
  2. Set up and load materials in bays, maintain cutting quality at acceptable feed rates, and perform first part and random inspections as per protocol.
  3. Set up and operate production equipment such as Punch/Shear, Ironworker, saw, lathe, drill press, and pipe bender.
  4. Assemble and prepare Steel Storage Systems and finished products for shipment.
  5. Gather necessary parts and materials from designated storage areas.
  6. Operate machinery using hand tools, power tools, or specialized equipment to assemble components.
  7. Ensure all jobs are performed safely and in compliance with workplace safety regulations.
  8. Assist the production manager with projects in the manufacturing department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with cranes and forklifts highly preferred.
  • Extensive metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic hand and power tool skills.
  • Experience with HVLP spray applications is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and read assembly blueprints.
  • Precision handling of small parts.
  • Strong focus on quality and error detection.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and PPE usage.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization.

Material and Equipment Used:

  • Steel-toed boots and safety equipment as required.
  • Forklifts, manlifts, overhead cranes.
  • Tools and drills.

Working Environment:

  • Warehouse setting.
  • Lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally, 20-50 lbs frequently.
  • Frequent twisting, stooping, bending, climbing ladders up to 20 ft.
  • Standing, walking, reaching, and working overhead regularly.
