Position Summary
The Production Assembly Leader is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and direction for Doonan's Paint and Assembly production teams.
This position works closely with production leadership and employees to coordinate workflow, maintain production schedules, resolve problems, ensure quality standards are met, and promote a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical aptitude who can effectively communicate expectations, identify problems, make decisions, and hold team members accountable while leading by example.
- Lead and coordinate daily activities for Paint and Assembly production employees
- Organize workflow and assign employees to ensure production schedules are met
- Monitor production progress and communicate issues or delays to management
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to employees when needed
- Ensure trailers are assembled and painted according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards
- Identify production problems and assist employees with troubleshooting and solutions
- Monitor workmanship and address quality issues promptly
- Ensure employees properly use tools, equipment, and machinery
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures
- Help train new employees and develop team members' skills
- Provide coaching and direction to employees regarding performance, quality, and productivity
- Maintain accountability for attendance, work performance, and adherence to company expectations
- Communicate effectively with production management, maintenance, and other departments
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency, and quality
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe production environment
- Lead by example through a strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to quality
Qualifications
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong mechanical background required
- Manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, painting, or trailer industry experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to make decisions and resolve problems independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
