Responsibilities of a Steel or Aluminum Welder:

• Read blueprints and/or drawings
• Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Setting and/or adjusting settings of weld equipment
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Occasionally use hand plasma
• Occasionally operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
