Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Assembler to support production operations in Ashland, VA, assembling, inspecting, packaging, and moving products and materials.

You will work with a team to meet production goals while upholding safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include operating tools and equipment, inspecting outputs, maintaining records, and contributing to lean initiatives. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, production, distribution, or industrial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products, components, or subassemblies according to work instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or process concerns to supervisors or team leads.
  • Package, label, and prepare products for shipment or storage.
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation as required.
  • Follow established manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with material handling, inventory movement, and workstation organization.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve production objectives.
  • Participate in and follow lean manufacturing methodologies and manufacturing practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
