Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components per specs.
  • Use hand tools including torque drivers and wrenches.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
  • Complete production documentation and quality records.
  • Troubleshoot and rework assemblies per changes.
  • Assemble wiring harnesses and electrical connections.
  • Follow all ESD handling procedures.
  • Maintain 5S and safe, organized work area.
  • Identify opportunities for quality and process improvement.
  • Assist onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Mechanical Assembler II

Location: Milpitas, CA

Work Arrangement: Onsite

About The Role

As a Mechanical Assembler II, you will play a key role in building Omnicell's innovative healthcare automation products. You will assemble mechanical and electromechanical components, interpret technical documentation, perform quality inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives that help ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented manufacturing professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality products that positively impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and assembly procedures.
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to specifications.
  • Utilize standard hand tools, including torque drivers, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and other assembly equipment.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections to ensure products meet established quality standards and requirements.
  • Complete production documentation, travelers, quality records, and checklists accurately and on time.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and rework assemblies as required by engineering changes, nonconformance reports, or production requirements.
  • Assemble wiring harnesses, cables, and electrical connections in accordance with drawings, schematics, and documented procedures.
  • Follow all ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures when working with sensitive electronic components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles and established safety practices.
  • Proactively identify quality, safety, or process improvement opportunities and communicate them to leadership.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members and assist in evaluating readiness for independent work.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and work instructions.
  • Experience using standard assembly tools and measuring equipment.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate ERP systems, production software, and electronic documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare technology, electronics, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ESD controls, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with wiring harness assembly, cable routing, or electromechanical assembly.
  • Prior experience training or mentoring manufacturing associates.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or MES systems.

Base Compensation

$25.00 to $28.50
