Our international nonprofit health care client in Dallas is looking for a freelance Production Artist to start around June 16 through mid-October.
The position will begin with lighter hours (approx. 10 hours/week) and ramp up as project deadlines approach. This is a remote assignment, but onsite availability may be required for press checks and hard proof reviews.
The detail-oriented and technically skilled Production Artist will support the simultaneous launch of multiple specialized healthcare educational products. This role is ideal for someone with strong pre-press experience and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.
Production Artist Responsibilities
- Prepare and build print-ready files for manuals, posters, reference materials, and packaging.
- Manage revisions and updates to ensure materials are ready for simultaneous release.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet tight and shifting deadlines.
- Handle pre-press production for large-format manuals (up to 500 pages, saddle-stitched).
- Create and update digital-only materials such as certificates and completion cards.
- Ensure accessibility of digital files using InDesign and Acrobat (training available).
- Make minor updates to marketing materials including banners and collateral.
- Support press checks and review hard proofs as needed.
Product Artist Requirements
- Must have advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, including form fields and accessibility standards
- Intermediate skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong experience with pre-press and print production processes.
- Experience working with large, complex documents and simultaneous product launches.
- Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and file organization.
- Availability for onsite work when required.
