Job summary

Rusco Manufacturing is seeking a Production Area Supervisor for the 1st shift in Machesney Park, IL. You will supervise and coach hourly teams to keep a busy floor running smoothly while meeting safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

You will coordinate daily work orders, track productivity and downtime, lead shift huddles, and partner with maintenance, quality, warehouse, and engineering to resolve issues and improve flow. High school diploma required; Lean/Six Sigma exposure a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of supervision in manufacturing.
• Experience leading hourly production employees.
• Ability to read schedules and work instructions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean/5S/Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production employees on 1st shift.
• Coordinate daily work orders and staffing.
• Track schedule adherence, productivity, and downtime; remove obstacles.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA standards.
• Investigate quality issues and implement timely fixes.
• Lead shift huddles and communicate priorities and results.
• Complete production logs and employee documentation accurately.
• Manage attendance, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions.
• Promote a respectful, team-first culture.
