Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an Assembly Production Supervisor to serve as a first-line leader to support our production team members within an assigned manufacturing zone in Ripon, WI. They will position coordinates day-to-day assembly activities to meet scheduled production targets, uphold a safety-first culture, and foster continuous improvement. They will apply servant leadership principles to coach, train, and engage team members, manage front-line employee relations, and interface with union stewards and technical staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Type: Fulltime (Perm)

Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift (Mon – Thurs, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM; additional workdays as needed)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily assembly zone activities to ensure production schedules, volume targets, and operational requirements are met consistently.
• Lead zone safety initiatives, educate and train team members on safety protocols, and maintain strict regulatory compliance.
• Empower team members to participate in continuous improvement, eliminate operational risks and waste, and advance lean processes.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise production team members in best practices for safety awareness, quality standards, and productivity.
• Ensure new and existing employees are properly trained by Team Leaders in safety procedures, quality specs, equipment operation, and 5S.
• Foster a respectful, collaborative workplace culture that encourages open feedback and active employee engagement.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks to continuously improve assembly processes and reduce work-in-progress (WIP) and inventory levels.
• Partner directly with technical, engineering, and maintenance staff to ensure equipment reliability and operational support.
• Establish annual goals and objectives for the shift that align with site-wide operating metrics and key performance indicators.
• Serve as the primary front-line contact for employees to address and resolve routine workforce and workplace issues.
• Interface with Union Stewards regarding contractual procedures, labor agreements, and employee disciplinary matters.
• Drive team participation in safety audits, hazard identification, and corrective action implementations across the assembly floor.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a medium-to-high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety practices.
• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
• Self-driven and ambitious with proven capabilities in supervising, mentoring, coaching, and motivating teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on encouraging teams to create proactive solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, demonstrate manual dexterity, and lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations (relevant internships or co-op experience considered).
• Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, process control, and production scheduling.
• Demonstrated history of leading with a servant leadership mindset.
