Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production & Inventory Control Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Pass & Seymour Team in Concord, NC. Responsible for the management of the Production & Inventory Control and Shipping and Receiving Departments at the Pass and Seymour manufacturing facility in Concord, NC.

What Will You Do?
  • Manages production planning, material & inventory control, shipping, receiving, and tactical purchasing for CD plant. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees in shipping and receiving; planning, assigning and directing work, promotional and salary recommendations, coaching and developing talent, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for coaching and development of buyer/planner team assigned under value streams. This includes mentoring and training on topics such as planning, inventory control, supply and operations planning or any other relevant topics to the buyer/planner role.
  • Develop and ensure compliance to departmental procedures, processes, and standard work to meet company objectives for:
    • Master Production Planning
    • Material Requirements Planning
    • Shipping & Receiving
    • Inventory Control
    • Lead S&OP process and activities from plant perspective to ensure capacity, material, and FG inventory available to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and ensuring implementation of all ISO procedures pertaining to Inventory Control at the Plant level.
  • Oversee inventory planning & control function for finished goods and raw material balancing working capital requirements and customer service requirements. Benchmark and utilize optimal tools and processes to plan inventory levels. Establish process to review and implement kanban levels, stocking agreements, and other inventory management systems, in line with the S&OP forecast, on a frequent basis to ensure optimal inventory turns. Set up and monitor procedures to meet the company's objectives for Stores "Raw" and "WIP" inventory accuracy.
  • Work closely with suppliers, as the owner of the plant business relationship, to drive improvements in quality, cost productivity, service, and inventory (including lead time reduction).
  • Benchmark and implement best practices in technology, lean processes, and tools to drive productivity and eliminate waste.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Required Skills
Education
  • BS in business or technical field.
Experience
  • 5 - 10 years experience in production planning, S&OP process, and inventory management.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Knowledge of inventory control methodology to meet the needs of Manufacturing, Distribution and Customer. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively. Must be proficient with AS400 and related applications.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across many levels of the organization. Able to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence.
  • A basic understanding of financial concepts (working capital, cash flow) is required.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be able to synthesize data and make recommendations.
