Job summary

Primis is expanding its Forward Deployed Engineering team to own production AI systems for leading law firms and corporate legal departments. You will build AI agents that transform messy legal workflows into reliable, scalable solutions, collaborating directly with clients and stakeholders.

The role focuses on end-to-end delivery, from discovery to production, with a mix of on-site and remote work on a global platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer with system design and distributed architecture experience.
• 2+ years delivering production AI applications (LLMs) beyond PoCs.
• Deep Python backend experience with REST APIs and async services.
• Hands-on with LangChain/LangGraph or equivalent tools; RAG and vector DBs.
• Experience with AI evaluation/observability tools (LangSmith/Langfuse, Datadog, Grafana).
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) with IaC and secure API development.
• Ability to explain architectures to legal/business stakeholders; client-facing background.

Responsibilities

• Build production AI for legal workflows: contract review, litigation support, discovery automation.
• Engineer RAG pipelines and multi-step agent workflows using enterprise systems.
• Own quality: design AI evals, benchmarking, tracing, monitoring, and red-teaming.
• Lead technical discovery with attorneys and business stakeholders to turn needs into prototypes.
• Explore MCP and tool-integration patterns, creating reusable tooling for the team.
