Job summary

Manulife is seeking an AI Engineer to join the AI team supporting the Long-Term Care program. You will design, build, deploy, and scale production-grade AI solutions across John Hancock and Manulife to improve outcomes, efficiency, risk management, and customer experience.

The role requires hands-on deployment with MLOps/LLMOps, cloud-native development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn prototypes into reliable, scalable AI products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in AI/ML engineering or related technical roles.
• Strong Python programming with production-quality code.
• Experience deploying ML/AI models to production cloud environments.
• Hands-on MLOps: versioning, registry, CI/CD, monitoring, retraining.
• Production model monitoring: drift, latency, reliability, business metrics.
• GenAI/LLM-based solutions: prompt engineering, embeddings, guardrails.
• Cloud experience with Azure and tools like Azure ML, Databricks, MLflow.
• SQL and data engineering concepts for scalable pipelines.
• Strong API design, testing, docs, security in development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI/ML solutions for Long-Term Care.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to translate needs.
• Develop modular ML pipelines: data processing, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring.
• Operationalize models, including forecasting, risk scoring, and anomaly detection.
• Implement GenAI/LLM-based solutions and integration with business workflows via APIs.
• Deploy AI services in production using containers, CI/CD, testing, and cloud infra.
• Monitor model performance, drift, latency, and cost; maintain observability dashboards.
• Ensure security, governance, and compliance with enterprise standards.
