Job summary

NWH is seeking full-time Stick Layers at our Marienville, PA facility to stack lumber with stickers for optimal drying. You will inspect for defects, align piles, and operate equipment in a safety-conscious, team-based environment.

Candidates must lift 50+ pounds, pass a drug screen, and maintain an excellent attendance record while supporting a clean, organized yard and efficient production flow.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Stack lumber in layers, placing stickers (small wooden sticks) between each layer to promote even air flow and drying.
• Inspect lumber for defects and ensure it is properly aligned and supported during stacking.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Operate and maintain equipment used in the stacking and drying process.
• Monitor the condition of stacked lumber and report any issues to supervisors.
• Assist with other tasks in the lumber yard as needed, including loading and unloading trucks and organizing inventory.

Requirements include:

• Must be safety conscious, have a positive attitude, and work well in a team environment
• Must have and maintain an excellent attendance record
• Work at a fast pace and be a detail-oriented team player
• Pre-employment drug screen required
• Candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
• Always required to wear personal protective equipment
• Cross-training in other production-related jobs
