Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking an Engineering Technician for on-site support in Maplewood, MN. The role focuses on product testing and raw material testing in a lab setting, with responsibilities to document results and manage equipment.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/BA or an Associate degree, has 1 year of lab experience (2–3 years preferred), and is proficient with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks. The position is a 1-year contract with a regular 8 AM–5 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or two-year Associate degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience; 2–3 years preferred.
• Basic understanding of CAD software; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Analytical and curious mindset with ability to understand data trends and solve problems.
• Hands‑on experience working in a shop environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on products and raw materials using defined test methods and accurately record results.
• Use computer software to analyze data, summarize conclusions, and complete required documentation.
• Prepare, operate, and maintain basic hand tools, power tools, and laboratory equipment.
• Independently perform assigned tasks and testing activities.
• Support routine laboratory operations, including sample storage and inventory management of supplies and chemicals.
• Train team members on sample preparation, test methods, and laboratory protocols as needed.
