Product Support Business Analyst

Are you a Business Analyst with strong Property & Casualty insurance experience who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving business solutions? This opportunity offers a unique blend of production support and business analysis responsibilities within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

As a Product Support Business Analyst, you'll take ownership of a designated insurance program, serving as the primary point of contact for production support, business requirements, stakeholder communication, and Agile delivery activities. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, organized, and comfortable balancing operational support with project-based work.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary Business Analyst and support resource for an assigned insurance program
• Review, triage, and manage incoming application support requests
• Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Support policy administration and underwriting systems
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria
• Facilitate stakeholder interviews and requirements sessions
• Partner with developers, QA teams, and business users to deliver solutions
• Support Agile sprint planning and execution
• Research system behavior through data analysis and troubleshooting
• Balance production support responsibilities alongside project initiatives

Required Qualifications

Property & Casualty Insurance Experience

• Strong understanding of P&C insurance operations and policy lifecycle processes
• Experience with policy administration and underwriting workflows
• Commercial insurance experience preferred
• Recent industry experience strongly preferred

Production Support Experience

• Experience supporting business applications in a production environment
• Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve system and business issues
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines

Business Analysis Experience

• Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills
• Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions
• Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria

Policy Administration Systems

• Experience supporting policy administration platforms
• Knowledge of policy processing, endorsements, renewals, rating, forms management, and underwriting workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• SQL experience for research and troubleshooting
• API and systems integration knowledge
• Jira experience
• Experience writing Gherkin acceptance criteria
• Commercial insurance expertise
• Insurance rating and forms management experience
• Familiarity with ISO rules
• Visio or process documentation tools
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
